In 2017, while working at an ironically sad roller coaster factory in a Chinese town you’ve probably never heard of, Stew (co-founder) had an idea — boomboxes in briefcases.

It was a meaningfully meaningless pursuit, but somehow it worked (we're still working on the "why" part).

Soon after, on a junk boat in Hong Kong, fuelled by a few too many KTV-baijius, Ty (the other co-founder) heard something special, signed his life away, and Bassmaker™ was born.

By late 2019, Bassmaker™ was ready to rock, but a mysterious "flu" sent the team scrambling out of China with a half-finished product, and a bad cough, (next stop? USA!)

Bassmaker™ landed in Austin Texas, the live music capita no less, where they launched an Indiegogo campaign that caught many fans and brands by surprise.

By 2024, after making waves in the promotional merchandise market, and with thousands of OG's now in circulation, the team is readier than ever to make you... a bonafide Bassmaker™
